Rowan Hale
Collector and reseller of Pokémon cards, and the person behind Should I Grade It?
Rowan Hale is the pen name of the collector who built Should I Grade It? Rowan collects and resells Pokémon cards, from vintage Wizards of the Coast holos to modern sets, and has the same problem every collector does: working out which cards are worth paying to grade and which are better sold raw.
That's where the site came from. Rather than guessing from a quick look, Rowan wanted the measurements: the actual centering split, where the whitening is, and what a card sells for raw against what it sells for at the grade it would really get. The guides here are written from that hands-on process of checking cards, comparing grading costs and doing the sums before submitting.
What Rowan writes about
- Whether specific cards are worth grading, and how to tell
- Centering, corners, edges and surface, and how graders judge them
- Grading costs at PSA and the alternatives
- Raw and graded card values
